Description
Global Canopy is a data-driven not for profit that targets the market forces destroying nature. We do this by improving transparency and accountability.

We provide innovative open-access data, clear metrics, and actionable insights to leading companies, financial institutions, governments and campaigning organisations worldwide.

Corporate Performance:
A growing number of companies and financial institutions are seeking to mitigate their impacts on nature.

But many have made commitments that are not being met, and others are failing to take any action at all.

We hold to account through our Forest 500 project, assessing the policies and performance of influential companies and financial institutions.

And our Deforestation Action Tracker monitors financial institutions with significant climate commitments to track their action on deforestation and associated human rights abuses.

We also support financial institutions and investors with our suite of Deforestation-free Finance Guidance.

And we support the finance sector, policy makers and other stakeholders by providing market-leading data on deforestation and ESG metrics through Forest IQ.

You will be part of a leading, multinational, multidisciplinary, and multilingual team of experts, delivering this exciting program in a way that is effective, manageable and fun We value diversity, inclusivity and creativity at the core of what we do.

This role will be central to the Corporate Performance programme and will be responsible for carrying out thorough and detailed research and engagement on corporate performance on deforestation, conversion, and associated human rights abuses.

This work will bring greater accountability and transparency to companies and financial institutions exposed to deforestation, conversion, and associated human rights abuse risks.

This will primarily include working within a small team of Researchers and Research Assistants to conduct in-depth assessments of corporate and financial institutions, based on their self-published publicly available information.

This will be across a range of high-risk commodities and geographies, and the role will join the team in a period of expansion.

Alongside the assessments, the Researcher will support and occasionally lead effective engagement with assessed entities on their assessments and areas for improvement, as well as with data users and NGOs.
