Your role
We are looking for a Customs Specialist to join our team delivering the service on HMRC TSS.

Our UK Public Sector team leads the delivery of the Trader Support Service working with a consortium of partners providing training and education, digital case management and customs support to traders moving goods between Great Britain and Northern Ireland and importing goods into Northern Ireland from the rest of the world.

Delivering the Trader Support Service requires commitment and agility, tenets of the relationship developed with HMRC and with Government - both key elements of our approach to the UK Public Sector.


Your role will involve:

  • Working cross functionally with stakeholders at all levels across Fujitsu, Consortium, HMRC and Traders
  • Working alongside the Service Management team to deliver a quality service
  • Represent Fujitsu at customs webinars and seminars
  • Provide high quality customs and trade advice for clients in line with UK legislation
  • Participate with audit and demonstration requests for TSS
  • Contribute to customs related policy and governance compliance processes
  • Keeping up to date with official customs processes / policy
  • Identifying, understanding and assessing potential customs changes and how they translate to TSS

Your experience

  • A solid understanding of UK and EU Customs process
  • Has relevant Trade and Customs experience from a compliance or advisory role
  • Experience of HMRC procedures essential (CFSP, CW, IP as examples)
  • Good knowledge of HMRC systems and systems used by other government departments both in UK and EU (e.g. EMCS, ICS, TRACES NT, GVMS)
  • Have up to date knowledge of customs and excise duty changes from 01/01/21 onwards (especially relating to NIP)
  • Demonstrate the ability to articulate business requirements and needs to technical teams
  • Understands the wider business impact of own decisions and actions
  • Excellent client facing, relationship building and business development skills, coupled with commercial awareness
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Articulates messages that are meaningful to others to gain support and commitment
  • Focuses effort on highest priorities and takes on new challenges with enthusiasm and urgency
  • Delivers against commitments
