SWISCo delivers services on behalf of Torbay Council.

We are responsible for the delivery of statutory functions and associated services in relation to the following areas of work:


  • Waste & Recycling
  • Highways, Fleet & Transport, and
  • Parks, Street Scene & Green Infrastructure


SWISCo also undertakes work for other public and private organisations to provide added value to the community and to improve the cost effectiveness of universal and statutory services provided to all residents on behalf of the Council.


As part of our Highways function, we are looking for a Team Leader who can work with the Team Manager to supervise a small crew on a day-to-day basis.

The role will work to ensure and maintain road markings on the Highway network and install new road markings as part of network improvements.

The key requirements of the role that you will need to have include:

  • Being a highly motivated and organised individual who can work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Someone with an excellent working knowledge of both Chapter 5 of the Traffic Signs Manual and the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions, specifically with regard to installation of road markings.
  • Someone with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • An ability to engage persuasively and support staff at all levels.
