Purpose of job Reporting to the
Senior

Sustainability Manager:

Environment, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to ensure that our operational portfolio is operated in a sustainable manner, complying with all relevant legislation and taking actionsto improve environmental performance.

You will do this by overseeing the effective implementation of Landsec's ISO certified environmental and energy management systems, conducting site audits to monitor compliance and recommend opportunities for improvement


The aim of this role is to improve environmental performance across our portfolio, building strong relationships with Operational site teams to identify and deliver actions for improvement.


Principal accountabilities Environmental and Energy Management

  • Support the

Sustainability Manager:
Environment to lead the successful delivery of Landsec's environmental and energy management systems certified to ISO14001 and 50001, driving sustainability improvements across the business

  • To plan,manage and deliver internal site audits to support site teams and our service partners identify opportunities for improvement across all environmental issues, and energy saving opportunities.
  • Ensure that all environmental and energy auditing requirements are met by maintaining a schedule of visits and tracking nonconformances.
  • Lead investigation of incidents when they occur, prepare findings, and identify improvements.
  • Provide advice and guidance on sustainability best practices to site teams and other business units to ensure sustainability is at the heart of all business decisions and actions.
  • Contribute to site level sustainability action plan templates, ensuring they are kept up to date and actions and issues are logged appropriately.
  • Own and maintain internal documentation control of environmental related procedures and templates.
  • Monitor and communicate regular updates and proposed changes on environmental and energy legislation to ensure legal register is appropriate to business activities and impacts.
  • Build strategic relationships with key stakeholders around the business including external service partners to ensure sustainability in all activities
Data monitoring, collection and reporting

  • Ensure site level sustainability action plan templates are maintained and kept up to date with actions and issues logged appropriately.
  • Maintain Landsec's Legal Register to ensure all relevant environmental legislation is tracked and actions are taken to ensure compliance.
  • Support the
collation of environmental related data for all reporting purposes including business KPIs, internal quarterly reporting and sustainability assurance (auditing) as well as the production of reports (as required).

  • Work with other members of the sustainability team to review and analysis environmental data to identify areas of focus for improvement
  • Contribute with relevant information and support our sustainability reporting assurance process, submissions to external benchmarks and other external communications
  • Creation of site level energy performance dashboards
  • Communication and analysis of site energy performance

Key competencies:


  • Knowledge of environmental and energy management systems and the requirements of IS and 5000
  • Experience undertaking energy efficiency audits within the built environment
  • Knowledge of environmental and energy legislation and best practice
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate complex and technical sustainability topics to nonsustainability stakeholders such as Landsec colleagues, service partners, occupiers
  • A selfstarter with the ability to selfmanage workflows and tasks
  • The ability to engage and influence with multiple stakeholders, building relationships with individuals of all seniorities
  • Willingness to travel UK wide with some overnight stay

Knowledge, experience and qualifications Essential:


  • Experience of working with environmental and energy management systems and the requirements of IS and 5000
  • Experience of undertaking energy surveys and building business cases in energy efficiency
  • Auditing and compliance monitoring experience

Desirable:


  • Experience managing environmental impacts across multisite portfolios within the property / real estate sector
  • Degree in sustainability or in a other relevant field
