Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Trainee Site Service Team Leader to join us at Siemens Mobility - Rail Infrastructure.
This role will be based from our Swanley site but you will be working on projects in and around the West country and Wales so travel and working away is required for the role.
Siemens Mobility is a multinational leader in providing state-of-the-art software-based Signalling, communication and control systems that enable the operation of trains in mainline and mass transit systems across the world.
About your role
You will initially be employed as a trainee, with a development plan to ensure you progress quickly, so that you can operate as a member of the Construction Team.
What are the role responsibilities?
- Act as a trainee, with the aim of becoming a team leader for installation teams within 23 years.
- Following completion of training/appropriate work experience, take on the responsibilities covering:
- Organize and plan work to maximize utilization of resources.
- Organize and control the work undertaken by staff and contractors allocated and to ensure that it is carried out safely.
- Responsible for managing the personal safety and the administration, of allocated staff and contractors.
- Ensure that the briefing of instructions to staff under his control or allocated to him for such purpose is carried out timely.
- Responsible for checking and certifying time sheets ensuring correct hour booking and appropriation.
- Responsible for the timekeeping and discipline of staff/Agency workers under his/her control.
What qualifications/ Experience will you need for the role?
Essential
- Mechanical/electrical engineering background either formal education or work experience
- 5 GCSEs Grade C or above
- Excellent communications skills
- Assertive and influential
- Must be prepared to work day/night shifts as required by operational circumstances regularly
- Driving License
- Lodge away from you main depot as required for business needs.
Desirable
- Experience in railway signalling installation
- Experience in supervising staff or leading team
