    Description

    The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank's Economics Department drives economic thought leadership and analysis, encompassing macroeconomic monitoring, infrastructure needs assessment, debt sustainability evaluation, and project economics.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Conduct in-depth research on infrastructure, development, and development finance topics.
    • Analyze infrastructure projects' economic viability, or critically assess third-party analysis, to inform AIIB's financing decisions.
    • Lead 2-3 impact assessment studies annually for AIIB projects.
    • Support Economics Department publications and review other AIIB publications.
    • Develop the Bank's analytical capacity, including geospatial and impact assessment tools, with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Contribute to a network of research.
    • Manage the Research and Development Impact team, guide their work, and support junior economists' growth.

    Requirements:

    • Advanced university degree in economics, preferably a Ph.D., with a strong research record, including quantitative work, on development issues.
    • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant professional experience, with good knowledge of international financial institutions' practices.
    • Proficiency in using various data analytical tools, including geospatial analysis.
    • Strong people skills and ability to work with a diverse, multicultural team.
    • Excellent command of oral and written English.
