Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
To work as a member of the nursing team, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse delivering care to patients.
To work as a part of a multidisciplinary team to assist in the continuity of careTo assist in the maintenance of a safe, clean and comfortable ward environment.
To complete Trust training and education programmes commensurate with the role

Education & Qualifications:

- A good standard of education
- Ability to demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills appropriate to the role
Experience:
Essential criteria:
- At least six months experience as a HCA in an acute setting, or within an adult community (district) setting
- OR A student nurse, or medical student having completed their first placement
Skills & Aptitudes:
Essential criteria:
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A working knowledge of undertaking basic observations, and the principles surrounding this. Must be able to take blood pressures with a manual and electronic device

- Willing to learn and undertake new skills

- Genuine interest in working in a healthcare setting
