Description
Techniche Global are supporting a Design Engineering & Manufacturing Organisation based in Southampton to appoint Accountant to support the business through a period of transition within the senior finance team.
You will support the company by ensuring the continuation of finance transactions in purchase ledger, sales ledger, and general accounting.
Rate:
£20-£25p/hr PAYE
Duration: 3 months initially
Location:
Southampton
Responsibilities:
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Process staff expenses
- Overseeing accounts payable supported by finance admin assistant; reconciling statements, processing more advanced purchase ledger functions (credits, multicurrency, stage payments), managing ebanking runs, processing via Sage ebanking into NatWest Bankline.
- Managing accounts receivable supported by finance admin assistant; raising invoices, monitoring aged debtors, and allocating incoming payments
- Preparation of month end and basic management accounts project spend calculations, prepayments, accruals, depreciation, preparation of P&L and balance sheet.
- Managing petty cash
- Manage and allocate PDQ payments
- Overseeing accounts for group company in Xero
Key skills:
- Capable of independent, selfmotivated working
- Ideally, hold a recognised accounting qualification AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA of equivalent
- Experience in Sage 50 accounting software including Ebanking
- Experience in Xero accounting software
- Confident in managing and supporting junior team members
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
