Techniche Global are supporting a Design Engineering & Manufacturing Organisation based in Southampton to appoint Accountant to support the business through a period of transition within the senior finance team.

You will support the company by ensuring the continuation of finance transactions in purchase ledger, sales ledger, and general accounting.


Rate:
£20-£25p/hr PAYE

Duration: 3 months initially


Location:
Southampton


Responsibilities:


  • Daily bank reconciliations
  • Process staff expenses
  • Overseeing accounts payable supported by finance admin assistant; reconciling statements, processing more advanced purchase ledger functions (credits, multicurrency, stage payments), managing ebanking runs, processing via Sage ebanking into NatWest Bankline.
  • Managing accounts receivable supported by finance admin assistant; raising invoices, monitoring aged debtors, and allocating incoming payments
  • Preparation of month end and basic management accounts project spend calculations, prepayments, accruals, depreciation, preparation of P&L and balance sheet.
  • Managing petty cash
  • Manage and allocate PDQ payments
  • Overseeing accounts for group company in Xero

Key skills:

  • Capable of independent, selfmotivated working
  • Ideally, hold a recognised accounting qualification AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA of equivalent
  • Experience in Sage 50 accounting software including Ebanking
  • Experience in Xero accounting software
  • Confident in managing and supporting junior team members
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
