This role will form part of a joint Rough Sleeping Prevention Team delivered in partnership between BCHA and Julian House.


Position:


We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join us as a
Specialist Support Worker within the Housing First Service in Exeter.

This is a role where you can really add value and make a difference, working as part of our friendly, supportive and professional team.

The people this team works with are likely to also face challenges such as addiction and trauma, and the person in this role will to support them to make positive changes around these.

Our approach is to provide intensive, personalised 1:1 support to address issues and support the individual to maintain accommodation.


Whilst the role is based at The Civic Centre, Exeter, travel to customer's homes to provide an outreach service and one to one support for customers is essential.

One of our key aims is to support customers to a position of maintaining their own tenancy and sustainable independent living;

You'll be provided with a full induction and personal development plan, including core training such as trauma informed care, psychologically informed environments, safeguarding, First Aid and Health & Safety, with an opportunity to attend other specialist training such as motivational interviewing and solution focused techniques, and mental health awareness.

We often employ people who do not have experience of working in our sector but can demonstrate the right values and interpersonal skills.
