Hours:
Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.

to 5 p.m.; but, due to the nature of our service, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, you may be asked to work certain evenings and weekends to meet the changing demands of our clientsand the teams who support them.


Place of work:
Based at our office with on-site visits to clients homes, hospitals, inpatient units and other community placements


About the role


The Positive Behaviour Support Manager is responsible for managing a team of PBS practice leads who support a caseload of complex clients, delivering assessments and interventions that lead to positive changes for the individual, their families and widernetwork of support.

This requires being flexible in approach, solution and values focused, with an ability to maintain resilience under pressure.


The PBS Manager operates as part of the Management team, working in close collaboration with the Head of Operations, Operations Managers and Care and Support Managers.


Responsible for the promotion of a company-wide PBS and Active Support approach, which focuses on proactive preventative person centred support, and the development of Capable Environments that enable the overall improvement of our clients' wellbeing andquality of life.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and quality of Person Centered Plans and Positive Behaviour Support plans for the people we support, devising strategies and approaches to meet the individuals' needs and help they develop their independence and life skills, ensuringleastrestrictive practice is utilised at all times.
  • Oversee the delivery of personspecific training sessions as conducted by the PBS Leads.
  • Allocate PBS leads and monitor resource requirement for new clients and those with ongoing needs
  • Oversee the completion and / or review of the required training documentation for PBS training, including lesson plans, training materials, course evaluations, and feedback reports.
  • Ensure staff are trained in Good Autism Practice covering areas such as TEACCH, PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Social Stories, etc.
  • Oversee, regularly monitor and review the use of restrictive practices Company wide.
  • Alongside the nominated Care & Support Manager and Operations Manager oversee new client transitions including the allocating of PBS lead, setting up MDT's and ensuring plans are implemented in accordance with agreed plans and timescales
  • Provide clinical support to the PBS Leads during the transition of new clients.
  • Carry out assessments and reviews in clients homes or other community provision as needed and support the staff in providing any additional advice or guidance in carrying out their duties as part of an agreed PBS approach
  • Oversee and support the PBS Leads in terms of functional behavior assessment, analysis of incident reports and provide support and guidance with interventions, ensuring that evidence based interventions, informed by accurate data are used, as per PBS frameworkand evidence based best practice in the field.
  • Supporting PBS Leads with debriefs after significant incidents.
  • Contribute to the identification of areas for improvement and their development.
  • Carry out clinical supervisions with member of the PBS team in line with the company's Supervision Policy.
  • Ensure the delivery of personcentered support services that promote independence, choice, and dignity, empowering people to live as independently as possible.
  • Inspire networks to actively commit and work together to client support.
  • In partnership with the senior management team, participate in the strategic development of the organisation and assist with the identification and development of strategies for the planning and delivery of quality, innovative domiciliary services.
  • Provide support to other managers that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the service.
  • Attend Senior Management team meetings.
  • Support the company's quality assurance program, promoting high quality standards, best practice and continuous improvement of services in line with Marcus and Marcus Ltd's Quality Assurance Policy.
  • Work in partnership with our accrediting organisation
  • The National Autistic Society. Attend to documentation, coordinate and oversee work plans and activities pertaining to regular review of our services by the National Autistic Society.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of the needs of individuals with Autism across the service.
  • Lead on Restraint Reduction Network pledges and action plans
  • Maintain the highest standards of record keeping including electronic data entry and recording through professional selfgovernance in accordance with professional codes of practice and GDPR principles.
  • Hold up to date and promote across the company, knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to both the specific client group, Positive Behaviour Support and Person Centred Active Support.

About you

Qualifications
PBS practitioner with accredited qualification (BTEC level 5 in PBS) or with a Masters in PBS or Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) or Assistant (BCABA)


Experience

  • Working with young people and / or adults with learning disabilities, autism and/ or mental health difficulties
  • Managing own caseload of clients with complex needs.
  • Working with families and wider circles of support.
  • Conducting FBAs and developing function based Behaviours Support Plans.
  • Planning and implementing evidencebased programs to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
  • Developing and implementing and overseeing data collection systems to monitor client progress towards their goals.
  • Training others in behaviour support techniques and skills teaching.
  • Report writing and sharing with key stakeholders
  • Managing and supervising a staff team and developing their knowledge and area of expertise
