As a Recovery Worker you will be providing support and advice to people who are experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse.

You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside other social care services to identify how we can help.

You will develop plans with your clients to help them get their lives back to where they want them to be.

There will be assessments to carry out and records you need to keep and update, that's all part of our professional commitment and service to our clients and commissioners.


This is an exciting time to join the Richmond Community Drug and Alcohol Service (RCDAS), working for We Are With You alongside our consortium partners; SLaM NHS Trust, St Mungo's and CDARS.

We are recruiting for Recovery Workers based at our Twickenham service.

RCDAS provides an excellent and first-class range of drug and alcohol treatment options to residents of Richmond. Our services are busy and dynamic, with a strong recovery focus.

We currently operate in our main site in Twickenham, and we have various satellites throughout the boroughs.

The service is located close to the high street and local amenities, and less than a ten-minute walk from Twickenham Rail station.


About this job
As a Recovery Worker you will work as part of a team with the aims of:

  • understanding your clients
- keeping them safe
- creating a plan that they can achieve with your support
- checking in with them and reviewing their progress
- keeping accurate and timely records of your contact with them
- working effectively with other social care providers e.g. housing, to cover all aspects of their successful recovery
- continuously learning and reflecting to improve the outcomes for your clients
- supporting your colleagues across the service to deliver excellent care

London Weighting allowance of £2,759 per annum (pro
- rata if part-time) is applicable.


REQUIRED SKILLS:


To be successful in this role, you will:

  • have some experience of working in a health, social care or related setting
- have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
- be able to work effectively in a team, supporting others when needed
- be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise you work
- have good oral and written communication skills
- be comfortable using IT and digital media
- be organised and able to manage your time effectively
- able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion
- be happy to support other 'With You' locations when needed

You will also need to meet our safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.


DESIRABLE SKILLS:

- have previous experience of working with people who misuse substances
- knowledge of health and safety, including assessing client in high-risk situations
