Lotus Cars builds world-class, high-performance and lightweight sports cars that are sold all around the world.

Lotus Cars Limited is the manufacturing site of Lotus in the UK. Here we produce all sportscars types such as the Emira and the Evija.

To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a Paint Sprayer Apprentice in the Body & Paint Department to join us in our manufacturing plant based in Hethel.


Summary:


What you'll do:


  • To be at their place of work at the designated starting times.
  • Meet daily quality & production targets as set by the area Supervisor.
  • Ensure documented processes are followed at all times.
  • To be able to work in a structured manner.
  • To complete tasks in the allocated time.
  • Understand the need & work within the Company's flexible working patterns.
  • To learn new production techniques & processes.
  • To have the ability & willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Communicate with Team Leader / Senior Team Leader on concerns & shortages.
  • Understand & respond positively to the quality & process feedback system.
  • Handle all parts & equipment with care & attention.
  • Can work with minimum supervision.
  • Record production data for analysis.
  • Keeping themselves & others safe at all times.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area.
  • Use & maintain all supplied Personal Protective Equipment in good condition.
  • Actively participate in training, as and when required.

What you'll bring:


Essential:


  • Must be PC literate.
  • Knowledge and skills in polishing & vehicle finishing to a high standard. Ability to read & understand written instructions / documentation.
  • Ability to work under strict time allocation.
  • Meeting set targets to the required quality standards.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliable. Self disciplined. Trustworthy. Enthusiastic.
  • Must be able to work in an environment containing dust & paint fumes.
  • Must be able to understand & communicate effectively in English.

Desirable:


  • C&G, NVQ or similar, with Automotive Painting & Body Repair elements.
  • Knowledge of, or units in Business Improvement Techniques
  • C&G, NVQ or similar, with Automotive Painting & Body Repair elements.
  • Background in Automotive paint & body repair in a garage or workshop environment.
  • Knowledge of preparation & painting techniques & materials used to complete the preparation & painting of panels.
  • Good level of dexterity.
  • Good hand to eye coordination.
  • Knowledge and skills in polishing & vehicle finishing, to a high standard. Basic fibreglass repair or surface preparation skills.
  • Background in manufacturing environment.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Willing to learn new skills.
  • Self motivated.
  • Flexible to work changes.
  • High standard of housekeeping.

Additional Information:


  • Rural location. Manufacturing workshop environment. Working to a strict time schedule & using written instructions. Tasks involve lifting of materials & parts. Long periods of standing at the work station will also be required.
  • No budgetary responsibility. However, an awareness of the financial consequences of poor quality & not taking care of materials & equipment is required.
  • Must be able to to get to & from work as no public transport (trains or buses) service the site. (Rural location).
  • Safety of self & other team members.
  • Responsible for the quality of their own work, in the allocated time.
  • Understand that failure of the above will have financial consequences for the Company.
