We have a rare opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individual to join our Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist team as a band 4 Macmillan Support Worker (MSW).

This is a fulltime post with the macmillan skin team who are based across sites at brighton and Haywards Heath


The Macmillan Support Worker (MSW) will work alongside and under the guidance of Macmillan Nurse Specialists to provide support, advice and assessment for patients who have been diagnosed with both low and high grade tumours throughout the pathway.

Often being the first point of contact the MSW will triage calls and offer advice and support as able signposting and referring on as required.


They will take an active role in contributing towards the developing health and wellbeing interventions and support the nurse specialists in achieving Service Standards in line with national guidance.


The MSW will provide a link between nurse specialists and allied health professionals ensuring timely and accurate referrals are made to appropriate services.

We are happy to consider applicants who would like less than full time


All posts include an amount of patient tracking / data collection and therefore requires competent use of Microsoft packages, including exel.

The post requires the postholder to collect and analyse data, as well as the creation of graphs and presentations.

The MSW is often the first point of contact for patients and carers and will frequently be triaging their information needs.

The cancer site teams work together to provide a safe, high quality and effective service - This role is required works across disease site teams to provide holistic care to our service users and foster a supportive working environment.


This post holder will require excellent communication skills and will work alongside the Clinical Nurse Specialists and other members of the MDT.

Potential applicants should be dedicated to delivering patient care and proactive in identifying care needs as well. There will be a requirement to work across Trust sites.
