Hours:
Morning and /or afternoon invigilation - Morning exams start at 8.30am (arrival time 8am)
- Afternoon exams start at 1.30pm (arrival time 1pm)
Job purpose:
To support the exams officer in overseeing and supervising examinations in such a way as to ensure that guidelines and regulations for the integrity and security of the examination papers and procedures are followed during the examination sessions.
You will receive a timetable for allocated days when you will be required.This may vary from week to week depending on the number of exams taking place during each session or day.
The pattern of exams is normally 6 weeks in May-June GCSE and A level exams; University entrance exams are usually in November for one day.
Invigilators will be required to commit to certain busy days throughout the summer public exam period.Key Responsibilities:
- To assist in the setting up of the examination room/s
- The collection of examination papers from the exam's office at the specified times and then ensuring they are kept secure
- The setting out of exam papers/answer booklets and any other required materials following the seating plan instructions
- To always maintain confidentiality and security
- To ensure that there is no talking or disruption once an exam has begun
- To ensure that exam scripts are delivered safely and securely to the exam's office
- To remain focused on the exam room with no personal reading or work permitted at any time
Training:
- All invigilators will be required to attend training sessions prior to the commencement of each examination series (October and April)
