Truss UK is a specialist fabrication and machine shop, offering a wide range of services for various industries in both industrial & entertainment market sectors specialising in the manufacture of products in carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium alloys & polymers.


The company is based on the Wirral Peninsular, close to Liverpool and is the sister company to leading supplier and manufacturer of lifting and handling equipment Hoist UK.


Truss UK have their own range of aluminium truss products predominately used in the entertainment industry sector in theatres, live events and similar types of venue's.

Truss UK's work across multiple business sectors, offer diverse and demanding projects which will be fulfilling personally, working with small businesses as well as major blue-chip ones too in some exciting sectors.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to work on a diverse and dynamic range of project and product-based tasks and grow with the company.

The role will be particularly suited to individuals who have an engineering and fabrication background and an understanding of project costing.


The role
The role will focus on the ongoing development of our company with activities, including:

  • Managing existing client requirements & requests.
  • Establishing & developing new client relationships.
  • Estimating project and product production costs.
  • Generating new business through the preparation of quotations.
  • Growing the company moving forward through SEO engineering content and marketing documentation (training can be provided as necessary).
  • Providing innovative solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products.
  • Developing design specifications and approval conceptual designs (training can be provided as necessary).
  • Supporting the manufacturing team to ensure seamless transition from initial enquiry through to production, providing guidance and technical support as needed.

The person

  • Essential requirements_
  • Sound knowledge of fabrication & engineering principles, and manufacturing processes.
  • Practical understanding of material selection and of section sizes.
  • Ability to read, understand and fully interpret engineering drawings.
  • Good numerical & problemsolving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome design challenges.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering highquality designs within deadlines.
  • Strong competency with basic computer software (Microsoft office)
  • Proficiency using CAD software (Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Inventor) for the purpose of sales drawings would be advantageous but not essential,
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks.
  • High motivation and selfdrive with the ability to work independently but also within a collaborative environment.
  • Desirable criteria_
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing/fabrication environment.
  • Previous experience with costing steelwork projects.
  • Previous experience in a technical sales role with good commercial skills.
  • Previous experience dealing directly with supplier, contractors and clients.

The particulars


The position is full time and an immediate requirement, working at our production site in Moreton, Wirral and will be permanent following a probationary period.
