Description

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a special school in West Drayton to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The role will involve working with primary and secondary students who require additional support with their learning due to their additional needs.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Providing onetoone support to students with SEMH needs in the classroom.
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons that meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Monitoring and managing behaviour in the classroom.
  • Supporting students with their emotional and mental wellbeing.
  • Helping to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Management Plans (BMPs) for students.

Key Requirements:


  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Comfortable working with students who have challenging behaviour.
  • Good understanding of behaviour management strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other members of the support team.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, would be an advantage.
