An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Quality and Safety Team for a new role to lead on the Trusts moving and handling agenda.

The post holder will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strategic approach to Moving and Handling throughout the Trust and will
support all Management Teams in meeting their responsibilities for providing safe and effective care.

This will involve the provision of specialist moving and handling advice and guidance aimed at evolving the Trust's moving and handling policy, systems and practice in line with relevant legal duties, influences, case law and evidence-based best practice with the twin aims of promoting staff health, safety and wellbeing and patient safety, comfort and dignity.

  • Be a source of specialist expertise and advise the Trust on significant Moving and Handling issues.
  • Promote the development of safe working practices with regard to Moving and Handling across all service areas of the Trust in line with
current legislation, policies and procedures.

  • Represent the Trust at external groups / meetings and provide specialist knowledge and advice as required.
  • Engage with feeder university educators with the aim of influencing moving and handling content for ambulance associated degree
courses to maintain a common thread.

  • Work with the Trust's Health and Safety Manager, Health and Wellbeing Manager and Operational Services Leads.
