Treasury and Trade Solutions has focused function supporting Sanctions processes globally across Citi's TTS business. This function strives to a) Make Sanctions processes a Competitive Advantage ; (b) Drive efficient, agile technology and processes (c)Full compliance to strategic operating model across TTS lines of business (d) Build strong risk / controls focus, ensure mínimal surprises and (e) Deliver on all targeted improvement programs

The role serves as the Head of Sanctions Program Transformation and is responsible for driving the sanctions and other targeted compliance solutions for TTS globally while implementing new programs with substantive changes.

You must have Sanctions experiencewithin a banking environment to apply.

You'll work with the Heads of TTS Product, Operations, Technology, ICRM Sanctions to develop a strategic, coherent and holistic approach to Sanctions Screening / Compliance and drive the regulatory, market-driven, efficiency and data-quality projects acrossTTS.

The incumbent will identify, prioritize, plan, own, design sustainable solutions, execute, deliver and control the scope of the program to ensure that the defined and agreed scope are delivered on time.

Total employees directly managed would be about 20.


Key Activities:


  • The key role experience of this role will be handling Sanctions Compliance / Screening projects / functions
  • Orchestrate Sanctions Screening program deliverables across the Payments and Receivables organization globally in accordance with the governance and oversight framework. Projects across other TTS Lines of Business may be also required from time to time.

Lead planning and execution against a comprehensive set of risk-based programs to implement (a) regulatory changes (b) market-driven requirements (example ISO), (c) data flow management program.


  • Lead initiatives through delivery of technology solutions increase operational efficiency, reduce disposition turnaround times and improve client experience. Device appropriate strategies to enable efficient screening to support projected volume growth.
Review operations processes, technology tools / solutions and drive transformation within the established framework.

Enable risk-based prioritization of all changes considering: open issues, corrective action plans, high-risk jurisdictions, high-risk products,processing systems with larger volume/$ value in close agreement with key stakeholders.


  • Manage key initiatives end to end and act as escalation, single point of contact with key stakeholders inside TTS (e.g. Heads of Lines of Business, Business Sanctions Risk Officers ) and outside TTS (Sanctions, AML, Risk, Legal, etc.)
  • Ensure that programs proceed as per project management standards, that projects are managed in a consistent fashion, that program budgets are being managed, and that stakeholders are aligned.
  • Ensure change is managed with appropriate controls, documentation, and approvals including implementation of new and revised regulatory reporting requirements
  • Provide oversight into investment budgets during the budget planning cycle, and then throughout the year to ensure that multiple projects are proceeding according to plan, that funds are being used as required.

Education level and/or relevant experience:


  • The key role experience of this role will be handling Sanctions Compliance / Screening projects / functions
  • Experience in Transaction Banking products and handling regulatory / compliance matters;
  • Regional / global project management, Experience influencing cross functional teams,
  • Ideally 15 years of relevant regional and/or global experience in a financial institution

Knowledge and Skills:


  • Business manager mindset, with proven track record of results in management of business processes.
  • Experience in operating in complex, global organizations with mínimal support
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and Impactful presentation skills to command senior client and senior internal stakeholder meetings (Steering Committees)
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals and drive results with a high sense of urgency.
  • Proven Analytical ability. Pragmatic problem solver, forward thinker with independence of thought.
  • Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries; willing to break down functional silos to optimize business results and to facilitate the overall growth of the franchise.
  • Change Management / Process Reengineering goals at a regional / global level
