Reporting to Café Chef

Two Hands are passionate for people who deliver sociable service, speciality coffee and freshly made tasty food. Our chef's need to prepare hot and cold food offers for breakfast and lunch services.

Our chef's must be creative, have a flare for flavoursome food and must work in a clean, organised manor to promote a safe food environment.

To be successful in this role, you should be a self starter who can organise your time effectively, be organised and have a passion for food.

Ultimately, you'll assistant the kitchen team in preparing all food and support in the overall kitchen performance.


Objectives

  • To support the Café chef in the production of all café food and back of house operations.
  • To support in achieving a 64% food gross profit with all menus and minimise food waste wherever possible
  • Reporting all maintenance work to Café Chef or Two Hands Management
  • Report any kitchen equipment faults to your line manager
  • To ensure food safety and health and safety guidelines are followed at all times in the kitchen and therefore achieve a pass grade during food inspections

Kitchen responsibilities

  • Work cleanly and in a well organised manor at all times
  • Create a safe kitchen environment taking into consideration ready to eat and nonready to eat areas, cooking utensils and equipment
  • Abide by each recipe and spec sheet for the Two Hands food offer
  • Cook food in a timely manner and ensure at all service times food is delivered on time
  • Monitor food stock and stock rotate to reduce waste
  • Check freshness and quality of food and discard outofdate items
  • Take an innovative approach to catering and deliver new food ideas to your Café chef
  • Ensure compliance of health and safety, food safety, allergen and other company regulations within the kitchen at all time
  • To manage and perform all food deliveries, collection and storage
  • To ensure washing and cleaning of the area is performed to the highest standard
  • To attend all compulsory food handling training

  • To actively engage with the Two Hands team in a positive way at all time
  • To be flexible in your approach
  • To communicate in a positive, thoughtful and inclusive manor at all times with your colleagues.

Necessary skills

  • Previous work experience as a kitchen assistant, preferably working alone in previous roles.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Have a can do attitude and flexible with your approach
  • Good communication skills
