Administration Officer
We're looking for a skilled administrator to join our team and play a key role in the work we do.
We're looking for someone with a combination of communication skills and capacity for understanding the issues and difficulties faced by people accessing social care.
This could come from lived experience of using social care, being an unpaid carer, or a good understanding of disability, for example.
Essential to the role are initiative and organisation skills, a desire to help, excellent IT skills and an excellent phone manner.
The role is expected to be based in our office in Norton Park, Edinburgh, with occasional national travel for events.
Job purpose
- To effectively administer communications, finances, meetings, and tasks in support of the delivery of the SDSS workplan and strategy.
- To support the team in keeping files and data secure, uptodate and accessible.
- To work to the values of SDSS in support of our membership, stakeholders and staff.
- To undertake any duties or responsibilities deemed appropriate to the post.
Key responsibilities
- Maintaining responsive and effective communication with stakeholders by directing and following up on enquiries appropriately
- Logging and reporting on enquiries
- Managing electronic and paper mail, including bulk mail outs
- Booking meeting, event rooms and accommodation as required
- Booking access support such as BSL, transport and Personal Assistants
- Record keeping and minute taking as directed
- Coordinating membership renewal processes and maintaining stakeholder information in the SDSS database (Salesforce)
- Finance bookkeeping: processing invoices and bills (Xero)
- Office equipment and consumable purchases as required

£28,500.00 per year
