Job Description:


What your new role will entail:
We are looking for a Flood Risk Consultant to join our vibrant and growing Water Resources team in Bristol.

Within this role you will be contribute towards the technical delivery of a range of Flood Risk and Water Resources projects across the UK and beyond.


  • Hydraulic modelling using FMP, TUFLOW and/or Infoworks ICM.
  • Hydrological analysis using industry standard methods (WINFAP-FEH/ReFH2).
  • Drainage strategy and design, including SuDS.
  • Flood risk planning support including FRA, SFRA, master planning and permitting.

Key responsibilities within the role are as follows:

  • Undertake technical work across the Water Resources discipline within your areas of technical specialism.
  • Take pride in the production of high quality technical work and deliverables.
  • Take ownership of project delivery through adherence to project programmes, budgets and quality assurance procedures.
  • Provide technical mentorship and provision of support to graduate team members.
  • Assist with the preparation of tender responses and proposals.

Being part of the team:


AECOMs UK&I Water Resources team provides services to a range of public and private sector clients including the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, National Highways along with a range of Local Authorities, Water Companies and Developers.

The team comprises over 170 Engineers and Consultants nationally, delivering projects of varying scales from providing planning support to local developers, to provision of a full range of Water Resources and Engineering services for international multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.

The Bristol team forms one of AECOM's UK hubs for Flood Risk and Water Resources.

Our team of 15+ staff work collaboratively with the wider UK&I team to deliver a broad range of projects across the UK and beyond, with an emphasis on modelling and hydrology.


We take pride in the fact that the Bristol team actively supports staff in broadening their range of technical experience across different Water Resources disciplines, as well as wider responsibilities such as project management, line management and business development.

With a wide range of projects being delivered within the team spanning flood risk, water resources and water engineering, there will be many opportunities to grow and further develop your career.


Qualifications:


Here's what we will need from you:

  • Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivery of hydraulic modelling or hydrological assessments within the UK, using industry standard methodologies.
  • A track record of delivery of flood risk and water management projects in the UK, including liaison with private/public sector clients and regulators.
  • Working towards chartership with ICE/CIWEM
