Cambridge Garden Studios are experts in the design and build of garden studios and rooms. We are a skilled team of joiners and carpenters with over 25 years of experience in the building industry, delivering a large range of bespoke, hand-crafted and high-quality buildings.


We are recruiting a
full time, permanent Yard Assistant to be a key and effective member of the Cambridge Garden Studios team; ensuring the correct and efficient preparation and dispatch of outgoing product to agreed timescales, in order to ensure effective and accurate installations are achievable by the fitting teams.


To help maintain a well-organised and smooth operation within the factory and yard areas, at all times, including but not limited to, maintenance of stock levels, vehicle fleet and waste disposal.


Contribute to the overall efficiency of the operational aspects of the organisation so to guarantee customer satisfaction and maximise profitability.

Your core responsibilities will be assisting with the following:

  • Management of equipment, stock and materials located at the factory and yard, including tidiness of internal and external areas ensuring safety, security and efficiencies, at all times
  • Stock control of all materials and supplies including buying from suppliers, as required, to maintain optimum levels
  • Cutting materials (using CNC), picking, packing and loading product on to dispatch vehicles to meet installation requirements
  • Arrange and/or undertake deliveries to site; assisting fitting teams with offloading and, if required whilst on site, assist fitting teams
  • Ensure the fitting teams are supplied with all correct materials, equipment and information needed to undertake an accurate and timely installation
  • Ensure maintenance of the vehicle fleet, including arranging and facilitating MOT, servicing and repairs as necessary
  • Provide support to colleagues and other teams in the organisation where required
  • Deliver great customer service internally and externally
  • Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing for self and others, complying with Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times, including the wearing of correct PPE when necessary

About you

Qualifications

  • No specific qualifications are required other than a full, clean UK driving licence (Cat B), on the job training will be provided where required

Your skills and Knowledge

  • Some experience in delivering high quality work to agreed timescales in a similar or relevant field an advantage
  • Experience of multitasking whilst working autonomously

The role is based in Cottenham, Cambridge, but covers the wider East Anglia area. You will be mostly yard-based but will be expected to undertake site deliveries 1 or 2 days per week.

Salary is negotiable and dependent on experience.
