It's an exciting time to be joining Network Rail High Speed.
We are making the biggest fundamental change to our business in its history as we look to modernise and deliver an even more sustainable and high performing high speed railway than we already have today.
We are looking for a On Track Plant Specialist who will Manage the effective planning, co-ordination and operation of all On Track Plant (OTP), On Track Machines (OTM) and Works Trains to achieve the route work bank.
Promote compliance with legislation, Network Rail company standards and Rail Industry Standards on the use of OTP, OTM and Works Trains and provide motivation and support for continued improvement in OTP, OTM and Works Trains operational standards in a truly unique business that brings the UK closer to the world.
Who we are
Network Rail High Speed Ltd. (NRHS) is responsible for operating and maintaining the UK's only international high-speed railway, High Speed (HS1).
The 109km HS1 infrastructure consists of a diverse range of railway assets such as the track, signalling, overhead line, lineside buildings, depots, viaducts, and long tunnels.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd, NRHS is privately financed under an agreement with our client 'HS1 Ltd', undertaking a diverse range of activities from railway infrastructure maintenance and operations through to station facilities management and retail on behalf of our client.
Brief Description:
Manage the effective planning, co-ordination and operation of all On Track Plant (OTP) to achieve the route work bank.
Promote compliance with legislation, Network Rail company standards and Rail Industry Standards on the use of OTP and provide motivation and support for continued improvement in OTP operational standards.
About the role (External):
Overview of the role
Provide support in the planning of operations involving OTP, OTM and Works Trains at Delivery Unit and Route level.
Provide a check of the Lifting Operations involving OTP, OTM and Works Trains in compliance with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment regulations, Network Rail and Rail Industry Standards.
Provide expert advice and guidance on OTP, OTM and Works Train operations to local management.
Provide coaching and mentoring support for supervisor and senior managers required to undertake OTP, OTM and Works Train assurance.
Provide local support for national initiatives involving OTP, OTM and Works Train improvements.
Conduct assurance surveillance and inspections to identify good practice and incidents on non-compliance and take appropriate action.
Create Lift Plans for Lifting operations on the High Speed Route.
Be able to perform Crane Controller duties on the High Speed Route.
Provide out of hours support for real time lifting operations.
Act as regular liaison and key point of contact with OTP, OTM and Works Train suppliers to manage compliance to relevant standards and maintain a good working relationship.
Salary: 4B; £34,050 - £38,305
