As a Repairs Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality repair services to our residents


Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Performance Management: Lead a team of 7 operatives and trade apprentices. Conduct appraisals, one-on-one meetings, and tool box talks. Provide training as needed.

Efficient Work Management: Ensure daily work targets are met, manage materials and resources effectively, and respond to issues to prevent delays.

Technical Support: Provide construction and trade-based information and support to trade operatives and other relevant staff.

Coordination: Liaise with other supervisors and Housing Response to optimize staff deployment, integrated working with the planning function, and ensure a seamless end-to-end service.

Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of work meets technical standards and specifications. Conduct inspections during and after completion of works. Approve variations within agreed limits.

Health & Safety: Promote a positive H&S culture, take a lead role in health and safety matters, and ensure all staff can discharge their H&S responsibilities.

Customer Satisfaction: Secure customer satisfaction by overseeing the quality of work undertaken by the in-house team and contractors.

Site Visits: Monitor and record performance, standards of work, and Health & Safety compliance through work in progress visits to site.

Additional Duties: Perform any other relevant and appropriate duties required for the delivery of the repairs service.

Community Engagement: Attend meetings, presentations, and exhibitions for residents, including outside normal working hours and at various locations throughout the borough.


Requirements:

Skills, Experience, and Attitude:


  • Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of building regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience in a customerfacing role.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and site operations.
  • Working knowledge of statutory legislation related to health & safety and the need for rigorous risk assessment and method statement procedures.
  • Knowledge of current developments in housing policy and customer service.
  • Experience in social housing, local government, or a customerservice environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to create and maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Presentation, analytical, and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to plan work logically without close supervision.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel (Desirable).
  • Enthusiastic about working in a customer service environment.
  • Team player with a flexible and responsible approach to work.
  • Courteous, personable, and eventempered.
  • Willingness to work outside office hours.
