Description

We are seeking to appoint an experienced
Buyer to be based at our new manufacturing facility in Sunderland.

This is a very exciting time to be joining Faltec Europe Ltd as we transition, with around 500 colleagues, from the Boldon site, our home for 33 years, to a new £multi-million purpose build manufacturing facility at the IAMP, Sunderland SR5 3FH.

The role supports the Senior Buyer with the procurement of indirect goods, materials and services to ensure that the company's operational requirements are met, taking into account price, value, quality and delivery, plus, importantly, ensuring continuity of supply.

Some of what the Buyer will do:

Support the procurement team in the development of product and services category strategies by undertaking market analysis and research.
Possess a clear understand of market trends and have a proven track record of translating these into a competitive advantage.
Negotiating best in market prices to driving value within the procurement function whilst adhering to, and not compromising, the quality standards of goods, materials and services.
Collate, analyse and present data relating to supplier performance.
Proactively engage with customers to resolve invoice queries within agreed timescale and liaise with our finance department to obtain the correct information.
Work with and manipulate various types of data to collate relevant and accurate reports on suppliers.
Undertake, as required, due diligence of suppliers and ensure new suppliers are recorded and registered on business systems.
Actively participate in cost reduction activities and identify opportunities to consolidate and rationalise orders.

The Buyer profile:

Educated to degree level in a relevant businessrelated discipline preferred.
Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or working towards it.
A competent and confident negotiator who can demonstrate cost saving successes which has enhanced profitability within a large procurement operation.
Commercial and financial awareness, with a full understanding of how failure impacts production, maintenance and other departments.
Experience of maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) spend within the automotive supply chain or manufacturing sectors advantageous.
Can quickly build credibility, using influencing skills and strategies to develop professional relationships with suppliers and stakeholders across our business.
Good knowledge of purchasing and cost breakdown.
