Job summary:


  • The Strategic Support Programme (SSP) is a dynamic team making a significant contribution to delivering the Next Generation Royal Air Force. The programme is actively modernising, digitising, and simplifying supporting and enabling services delivered at a RAF Stations within the UK to improve the services and support functions RAF personnel use and deliver.
  • The programme team is diverse, combining Civil Service, RAF (Regular and Reserve), and Subject Matter Expertise provided through three separate contracts with commercial suppliers.

    Job description:

Person specification:


  • Lead Programme POC for actioning Establishment Change Requests (ECRs) on the System for Liability Information Management (SLiM):
  • Actioning Workforce Release delivery for Project Teams, directly contributing to delivering the outputs / outcomes of the projects / programme;
  • Assist with the onboarding of new joiners, including external consultants. You will be the first person that most new members of the team will meet first. Due to the dynamic nature of our activities there can be a high turnover of contract staff joining the team for discrete packages of work. This creates a sustained drumbeat of activity to ensure that personnel are on and offboarded appropriately, and enabled to undertake their responsibilities as quickly as possible through appropriate provision of passes and IT equipment.
  • Programme focal point for the use of the Contracting, Purchasing, and Finance (CP&F) tool, creating Purchase Orders monthly to ensure contractor invoices are processed in the timelines required, alongside other adhoc CP&F requirements that support programme / project activity.
  • Coordinate onboarding new members of the Programme Team and External Assistance, ensuring that personnel are on and offboarded appropriately and enabled to undertake their responsibilities as quickly as possible.
  • Undertake the Authorised Demander (AD) role for the Programme Director's AOR. Responsibilities include ordering software and hardware through the Defence Digital Catalogue.
  • Assist the Pg and Pj Teams (with the Project Coord) to organise and coordinate meetings, site visits etc.
  • Coord for all Pg and Pj Team formal training (MSP, Agile, MoR etc), sourcing most cost effective/value for money training solutions.
  • Secretariat role on behalf of the Programme Director for the six weekly Programme Management Board, monthly Programme Coordination Board, weekly Execs meeting, and other senior programme and contract management meetings as required.
  • Local inventory management (equipment, stationery, furniture etc).
  • Issuing and tracking team IT resource;
  • Maintaining the IT Asset register;
  • Central POC for password resets and other IT related issues;
  • Creation of new Personal User IDs (PUIDs) for contractors that require MOD IT connectivity;
  • Create IT accounts for new team members;
  • Manage Multiuser accounts, keeping track of who belongs to which account and who the account owner is;
  • Managing SharePoint accessLocal Security Officers (LSO) for High Wycombe Team, responsible for:
  • Custodian of the SSP Defence Share account, managing access and permissions.
  • Assist with General PMO Duties as required:
  • Pg governance and reporting, including production of programme artefacts and governance products.
  • Support delivery of Information Management activity
  • Coordination of SSP governance meetings
  • Providing support to audit and assurance activities
  • Supporting delivery of Stakeholder engagement activity
  • Maintain Pg Team Diary and Task Log
  • Other PMO support as required
