This large, national charity are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join their vibrant team on a permanent basis.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for all things financial accounts for two of the charity's key subsidiaries,driving all their technical accounting processes and enabling them to deliver on their financial targets.


The key duties of this Financial Accountant role are as follows:

  • Take the lead in the production of the financial statements for both of your entities.
  • Act as a key point of contact for the external auditors during the year end process and ensure any recommendations are implemented in a timely fashion.
  • Attend the Finance and Audit Committee meetings for each of your entities, presenting the accounts and answering any follow up queries as required.
  • Play a key role in the preparation of the annual Group accounts.
  • Full responsibility for preparing the cash flow forecasts for both entities on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure that all income and expenditure is correctly accounted for and reflected in the finance system.
  • Coordinate the month end close process for your entities and manage all compliance reporting.


This Financial Accountant role is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced technical accounting professional who is now looking to step up into a role and assume a greater level of responsibility, whilst gaining exposure to Committee level stakeholders.

The charity are operating on a hybrid working basis, with an expectation to be in their London offices for two days per week.


  • Achieved their full accountancy qualification.
  • A strong background preparing financial accounts and dealing with auditors.
  • Ideally, experience working in the charity sector, but this is by no means essential.
  • Brilliant communication skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Preferably, an understanding of financial control.
