Description

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for our boutique insolvency practice at either of our two offices - either in Croydon (South London) or in Eastbourne (East Sussex).

At this time we are looking for an experienced person (of at least 3 years) to join our close-knit, family like team.

This role is perfectly suited to someone who has perhaps had enough of commuting into Central London or for anyone relocating to the South East, provided they have developed the expertise to work autonomously from home - so as to benefit from an improved work-life balance.

You will be expected to visit an office 1-2 times per week, but other than that you will have the free reign to complete your work remotely.

The Role
You will work upon formal insolvency appointments e.g. administrations, liquidations and bankruptcies and manage your own portfolio of cases. You may also be required to attend events on behalf of the company.

You will be responsible for a varied case load of mainly companies but also including some Individual Voluntary Arrangements and possibly bankruptcies.

You will support and work closely with the managerial team and partners.

You will prepare reports and associated documents relating to CVLs, MVLs, Administrations and personal insolvencies and be responsible for ensuring statutory reports are completed in a timely manner.

There will be scope for involvement to work on occasional larger projects, and other areas where you can develop your technical skills and progress your recovery career.

As an Insolvency Administrator/Manager you will be:

  • Speaking to people on the telephone
  • Preparing and writing reports
  • Investigating company affairs
  • Dealing with agents to arrange the sale of assets
  • Preparing meeting papers
  • Attending team meetings
  • Making appointments
  • Welcoming clients
  • Drafting reports to creditors
  • Completing file reviews
  • Responding to networking opportunities
  • Answering the phone, attending inperson meetings or conducting video conference calls
  • Speaking to members of staff in the other office, on the phone or via zoom
  • Collating information
  • Using bespoke insolvency software (IPS)
You will have a basic understanding of commercial law - such as Contracts, Data Protection and Anti-Money Laundering.

There is also an expectation that you have an appreciation for the following:

  • Understand codes of conduct[NF1]and ethical standards
  • Understand legal entities and organisational structures
  • Understand the impact of technology on business, accounting and finance functions
  • Understand accounting transactions
  • Understand what makes a business successful
We work with financially struggling businesses and individuals, both inside and

outside of statutory insolvency procedures.

Our Partners have over 60 years of experience dealing with insolvency matters, from the smallest business to the largest corporation.

They are members of the Insolvency Practitioners Association, the Association of Business Recovery Professionals, INSOL Europe and INSOL International.

There is an opportunity for keen individuals to progress within the business, if they have what it takes to progress.

What attributes or qualities will I need?
1) You have
excellent communication and
customer service skills

2) You enjoy working with numbers and have the
ability to use Word and Excel. Knowledge of IPS would be an advantage (training will be given if necessary).

3) You must
maintain the security of accountinginformation using passwords, for example.

4) You are an
excellent team player, but can also work on your own initiative.

5) You have
the ability to implement change.

This means that you are confident and can adapt the way you work, to benefit the organisation and its customers.

6) You enjoy working in an
office environment and
from home.

7) You are
committed to your own personal development and training.

8) CPI qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.
