POST:
SENIOR CLINICAL FELLOWS IN NEONATOLOGY WITH A SUBSPECIALTY INTEREST (ST6+)





BASE:
NEONATAL UNIT, ROYAL HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN (RHC) - GLASGOW & NEONATAL UNIT ROYAL ALEXANDRA HOSPITAL (RAH) - PAISLEY.


Applications are invited for newly established Senior Clinical Fellow posts in Neonatology at the RHC and RAH Neonatal Units at middle grade or ST6+ level.

These posts will provide the opportunity to work in a complex tertiary/quaternary neonatal service with dedicated time to develop a neonatal subspecialty interest.

Posts are available for a period of 12 months effective from 7th August 2024.

These posts are suitable for experienced neonatal trainees and post CCT neonatal grid trainees.


These posts involve second-on duties in Neonatology at the RHC and/or RAH sites on the middle grade rota supervising junior colleagues at Foundation and ST 1-2 level with support from experienced ANNP's and Consultant Neonatologists.

These posts are suitable for individuals pursuing a career in Neonatology.


The Neonatal Unit at the RHC site offers experience in high risk prematurity, neonatal surgery, neonatal cardiology, neonatal ECLS and other neonatal subspecialty areas.


Proposed programs for sub-specialty development include:

  • Neonatal Haemodynamics
  • Neonatal Respiratory Medicine
  • Quality Improvement
  • Neonatal Nutrition/ Surgery

A reference from your most recent employer stating your ability to perform the duties required in Neonatology at this level of responsibility will be required.

To practice medicine in the UK you need to hold both GMC registration and a license to practice.


Although Clinical Fellow posts provide equivalent experience to run through training they are not recognised for training by the RCPCH.
