About the Role:
The hours will be:
Monday afternoon - 14:00 to 17:00
Tuesday morning - 09:00 to 13:00
Thursday afternoon - 13:30 to 17:00
Friday afternoon - 13:00 to 18:30
The selection process for this role will include a minimum of 2 people at the interview which will be week commencing 21st December
Main duties of the job:
- To greet patients at the reception desk and deal with their enquiries in a professional manner.
- To instruct patients on the correct use of the automatic checkin machine
- To make, alter and update appointments for patients on the computer systems according to set protocols
- To assist with patients enquiries on the telephone in a professional manner
- To accurately extract and refile patient records as and when required
- To handle telephone enquiries in a professional manner
- To provide advice and information to all users and visitors of Violet Hill House and associated health teams
- To provide holiday and sickness cover for reception team and act as building receptionist as required
- Keep reception area and desk efficient and tidy
- To pass on relevant information to team members to ensure continuity of care and staff efficiency
- Maintain security and confidentiality of persons, equipment and information

- Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable;
- Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner;
- Able to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times;
- Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations;
- Confident to work as part of a team and be able to think on your feet, independently;
- Strong IT and administration skills.
