A global manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of high-quality products for the aerospace and power generation sectors are looking for a Production Planner to join their team.
With a site stretching over 200,000 sq feet, they have superb manufacturing facilities ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved.
They also have a highly experienced team of staff across all the divisions of manufacturing, along with team leaders, supervisors, and managers who are responsible for their own respective departments.
This position is Monday to Friday 07.30am - 4.30pm with a 12pm finish on Fridays.Responsibilities of the Production Planner include -
- Plan and produce a balanced manufacturing schedule to achieve internal metrics and customer delivery dates.
- Report and review weekly adherence to the schedule plan
- Proactively work with the purchasing department to understand material availability and respond to short term shortages and machinery malfunctions.
- Work with department supervisors to trouble shoot any problems that may impact the plan including staff shortages and machinery malfunctions.
- Facilitate the daily production meeting and line walk.
- Monitor yield figures and update SAP to ensure that scrap and inventory targets are adhered to.
- General maintenance of SAP data, incorporating an active role in ensuring master data accuracy.
- Play an active role in scrap reduction initiatives.
- On a monthly basis prepare and present reports such as OTIF, capacity constraints etc.
- Previous experience in a technical manufacturing environment is ideal.
- An adaptive nature and will thrive in a setting where there are continuous changes daily.
- Experience challenging the status quo and implementing new systems bring ideas and innovation.
- Strong Excel Skills % of your system work will be on Excel.
- Experience in SAP or a MRP system.
- Confidence in spending over 20% of time on the shop floor with supervisors/team leaders
