Trainee Fire Door Surveyor

Location - (Travel throughout the UK including overnight stays)


Salary - Upto £26k + Company van or Car allowance + Bonus


The role could be a great fit for either an experienced Fire Stopper / Joiner who may be looking to come away from working on the tools, someone with a building services qualification looking for an opportunity to get in to industry OR simply someone with a desire to change career and find a role that offers full training and the chance to begin a new journey in a great company.


The role requires a mix of great customer service skills, good administration and lastly a keen eye for attention to detail.


The role:


In the role of Fire Door Surveyor, you will visit multiple building types comprising student accommodation blocks, occupied housing blocks, care homes, public buildings, schools, and universities to perform condition surveys on fire doorsets.


In the case of occupied housing blocks this will include flat entrance doors, where you will be required to meet predetermined access protocols and customer care procedures when liaising with customers and gaining access to perform your surveys.


Often working on your own, you will be required to maintain regular contact with your line manager and members of our planning team to maintain records of outputs, validate survey results and finalise reports before submission to our clients.


The role will suite, motivated team players with good organisation skills, knowledgeable in survey work that use initiative to meet predetermined targets.

Key Skills:


  • Full UK driving licence
  • IT Literate (Able to use a tablet / mobile devices + Microsoft packages)
  • Strong communication skills (Written & Spoken English)
  • Great customer services skills (Able to adapt depending upon the situation)
  • Attention to detail

Desirable skills:


  • Building surveying qualification
  • Previous experience in either Fire Stopping or Fire Door fitting
  • Recognised qualifications in fire door inspection e.g, BM Trada / FDIS / BRE
