We are recruiting a Cost Controller for our client, a leading oil and gas operator in Aberdeen.

This is a full time, hybrid, contract role with an anticipated duration of 12 months.


Cost Controller will be based in Aberdeen reporting to International Planning Manager and responsible for verifying costs with vendors and suppliers, estimating expenditures, recommending cost savings to Management.


Main elements and accountabilities:

  • Accruals and VOWD based accounting
  • Current and future year spend forecasting
  • Work with key internal and external contracts to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of cost allocations
  • Cost reporting and variance analysis
  • AFE Management and control
  • Internal and External audit support
  • Departmental costs accrual preparation and budget support
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) on financial matters within department, assisting to ensure financial compliance
Desired Qualities/Qualifications

Essential

  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Excel
Desirable

  • Degree Qualified in business, finance or a related field, while not essential, would be advantageous
  • Working knowledge of/or experience in procurement and payment principles
