Job Title:

Immediately responsible to:
Admissions Manager


Job Purpose:

A comprehensive knowledge of the admissions process is essential. This is linked with the work of UCAS Admissions Service.


The admissions team also organise open days, allowing prospective students to come to the university / college to participate in interviews, find out more information about the course and the campus, and speak to admissions officers and academics.

The Admissions Officer is the first port of call for many potential students.

You will be expected to give advice on how to apply, answer other questions about life at LMA and refer students to the relevant staff/departments for further information.


Main Activities and Responsibilities:


  • Provide professional advice and guidance on the admission of students
  • Communicate with students and their parents/guardians where appropriate
  • Represent LMA and provide high quality IAG to all prospective students
  • Promote LMA to potential students
  • Arrange and attend Open Days
  • Contribute to the creation and development of promotional material relevant to the role of Admissions

Other Activities and Responsibilities:


  • Establish working relationships with key contacts internally and externally, including Academic colleagues, in order to best represent Admissions and LMA as a whole
  • Undertake professional and personal development that is appropriate to the role and which will enhance performance, develop and maintain an awareness of the HE sector and relevant legislation
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Admissions Manager

Person Specification

  • Understanding of Higher Education Admissions
  • Knowledge of other external agencies relating to HE e.g. UCAS, SPA, UKVI etc.
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and interpersonal skills, in particular customer service
  • The ability to work on own initiative and to deadlines
  • Flexibility, the ability to work as part of a team
  • An enthusiastic, committed and proactive approach to work
  • The ability to respond flexibly & positively to changing requirements
  • An understanding of and commitment to Equal Opportunities
  • An understanding of data protection and confidentiality

Salary:
£24,000.00 per year
