Description

We are looking for a conscientious and adaptable individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join the Pharmacy team at Royal Gwent Hospital as a Pharmacy Assistant.


The Royal Gwent Hospital (RGH) is an 400-bed hospital situated in Newport, just 11 miles from Cardiff and close to the Brecon Beacons and South Wales coastline.

We are a forward thinking and innovative department.

Pharmacy enjoys excellent multidisciplinary links within the Health Board and we deliver clinical services to a wide range of specialities and are committed to the professional development of our strong team.

The Health Board has automated pharmacy systems and a comprehensive medicines management service including electronic discharge.


The post holder will primarily work in the pharmacy distribution section of the department, ensuring that medications are sent in a timely and organised manner to wards and departments throughout Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

Applicants will be expected to be able to have good awareness of stock control and have a high level of computer literacy.

To be eligible you must be enthusiastic and self-motivated and should have a good standard of general education.

This post is fixed term for 18 months to meet the needs of the service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
