This role profile is non-contractual and provids for guidance only.
It will be updated and amended from time to time in accordance with the changing needs of Caldicot Group and the requirements of the job.
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To support the Group Service Manager and needs of technicians and office staff administrators in the workshops. To provide excellent customer service levels at all times.
Day to-day running of the workshops and ensuring processes in accordance with current H&S standards, legislation and compliance.
Maximising profitability by means of efficient labour workforce time management.
To be contactable at evenings and weekends (as part of staff rota) if required, to provide support to staff or technicians.
KEY SKILLS:
- To be customer focused and to make sure that SLA's are achieved.
- Have previous experience in running a workshop environment.
- Be excellent communicator at all levels.
- Have a technical background with relevant qualifications
- Have a good understanding of IT system
- Possess a good level of organisational and administrative skills
MAIN RESPONISIBILITIES
- Checking all job cards and signing off inspection sheets
- Making sure that work is distributed efficiently to technicians by your service team
- Planning, advising on MOT's and Service schedules for maintenance with Caldicot Groups fleet and customer fleet vehicles
- Ensuring all paperwork is forwarded to customers on completion
- Attend monthly workshop meeting with line manager and Operations Director
- Give regular updates to customers on progress of repairs
- Ensure that service administrators are efficient in processing all paperwork
- Monitor invoicing by admin staff ensuring no invoices are ageing
- Motivate staff to achieve targets and goals you or management set
- Control access flow in and out of office.
- Ensure that parts are ordered and fitted in a timely manner
- Make yourself available to support Staff or Customers as required
- Conduct regular walk abouts in workshops to ascertain progress on jobs
- Monitor the condition and use of Technicians work tablets to ensure good functionality

Essential
- Experience of running a commercial workshop.
- City & Guilds / NVQ qualifications
- Good IT skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proactive attitude
Desirable
- HGV Licence
