Description
The Role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the teacher in delivering engaging lessons that are tailored to meet the needs of children with SEMH.
- Building positive relationships with the children, helping them to develop social and emotional skills.
- Providing onetoone support and intervention to children who require additional help.
- Creating a safe and nurturing learning environment that promotes positive behaviour and wellbeing.
- Monitoring and reporting on the progress of children with SEMH, and identifying areas where additional support is required.
- Liaising with parents and carers, and other professionals as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEMH, preferably in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of SEMH and strategies to support children with SEMH.
- Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A patient and caring approach, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and restorative approaches.
