Description

To provide advice and support to employees and managers; audit compliance with legislation, policies and systems; develop and deliver training, monitor and co-ordinate the delivery of statutory training; provide status and other reports to corporate committees and units.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Develop/ review / update training packages / materials on a regular basis, or in the light of change in requirements / legislation etc. to ensure content is evidencebased and current.
  • Deliver training sessions on health and safety and risk issues including practical patient and nonpatient handling key trainers and workplace assessors' courses and updates, violence and aggression training sessions and fire evacuation.

  • Manual handling workplace assessors courses and updates
  • Other health and safety / risk training as required
  • Undertake audits to check compliance with legislation, policies and systems, provide reports, and work with managers in the development and monitoring of action plans.
  • Review / followup incident investigations and action taken. Where necessary, provide advice to managers and assist in the identification of appropriate risk reduction measures and also ensure lessons learnt and good practice are shared throughout the organisation.
  • Provide advice and support to managers and staff on health and safety and risk issues
  • Deputise for the Manual Handling Advisor and Personal Safety Advisor by attending relevant meetings etc. if required in their absence.
