Flying Time Limited (trading as FTA Global) is a flight training academy for professional pilots, first established in 2006. We are one of the only commercial flight schools to base 100% of our pilot training in the UK.

Students from across the globe come to the South Coast of England to study on our modular and integrated flight deck programmes.

For over fifteen years we have trained students with little or no flight experience to become qualified commercial pilots.


This role is based at iconic Brighton City Airport which is the oldest continually licensed airport in the UK and perfectly situated to serve the south coast.


Demand for commercial pilot training is unprecedented - airlines worldwide are facing a shortage of trained pilots following a reduction in student entries during the COVID pandemic, coupled with early retirements of qualified pilots through the same period.


In the last three years, we have increased our training fleet and instructor team and, post Brexit, are the only training organisation offering a dual license from one location in the UK.

Our professionally trained pilots go on to fly for companies all around the world including airlines, corporate jets, or as flight instructors.


Job Purpose / Overview
Marketing and creativity should go hand-in-hand but often they aren't such obvious partners. At FTA we are looking for someone creative who can support marketing delivery.

This is a hands-on role creating and developing concepts, creative writing and overseeing the production and delivery of polished, well-planned campaigns and social media.

This role will lead in the delivery of student recruitment events.


The measure of success will be how you put your ideas into practice to engage, excite and ultimately attract new prospects to sign up to train to become a pilot with FTA.

You will be a creative individual who can bring ideas and energy to a dynamic team environment providing market appropriate solutions.

This is a stand-alone role working within the Student Services team. There will be a lot of scope to shape the delivery of marketing.


Principal Accountabilities

  • Translate the marketing strategy, ideas, and initiatives into creative insightful campaigns that delivers a pipeline of prospective students.
  • Work in conjunction with our external agency to develop a current and fresh approach to all marketing materials.
  • Create content and maintain all marketing channels and promotional materials including brochures, blogs, marketing copy and social media accounts.
  • Create press releases and external communications in conjunction with our PR agency.
  • Keep the company website updated with new information and ensure we have an interesting repository of photographs.
  • Lead on the planning and implementation of all promotional events such as open days and exhibitions to deliver a pipeline of potential students to the courses.
  • Lead on market research, analysing surveys and polls, looking for patterns and trends. Use internal resources such as students and instructors to develop new ideas which will compliment and build on our marketing plans.
  • Working alongside the Student Services Manager to develop the management information format for the company internal reporting.
  • Maintain excellent client relationships with suppliers to enable the best return on investment.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Marketing, Design, English or Creative Writing would be desirable
  • Experience of social media management
  • Proficient at data analysis & data entry
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Creative writing skills and an ability to proofread with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal communication
  • Excellent customer service and client relationships
  • Creative & innovative it would be advantageous to have a working knowledge of developing marketing campaigns previously.
  • Good teamwork
  • Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to plan and deliver events.

Logistics


We are a small team who work from one location so this role is based at Brighton City Airport in Shoreham.

The role is full time for 40 hours a week.


The role is Monday to Friday however on occasions you will be required to work at our open days over the weekend and at events offsite.
