My client is a specialist in automation products, monitoring solutions and technical services to power utilities, generators and system integrators.
Their flagship software platform enables utilities to extend their data collection and control systems deepinto the power network, allowing renewable generators to connect to the grid more cost-effectively and quickly.
Their technology is a key enabler for the transition to net zero power networks. We are looking for a bright, motivated, and capable Software Developerto join our software development team.
You will be working across a modern technology stack, using TypeScript and HTML5 to build rich UIs on the frontend, C#/.NET for APIs/services on the backend, SQL for data storage, and various SCADA/IIoT protocols for communications.
Required Skills and Experience
- C#/.NET, TypeScript (or JavaScript), HTML5 and SQL
- Good understanding of software development best practices
- Experience working in a team using distributed source control (Git/Mercurial)
- Interest and ability to learn new technologies as needed
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with designing and implementing highly available, fault tolerance software
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal/external customers,
- Expertise in SCADA and IIoT protocols (DNP3.0, IEC , IEC 61850, MQTT)
- Experience with HTTP (1.1/2.0/3.0), TCP/IP and UDP/IP protocols
- Experience working with and supporting critical systems
- Understanding of cryptography and cyber security technologies such as TLS and asymmetric
