Management/FP&A Accountant | Burton-on-Trent | £45,000 - £50,000


Macildowie Finance is currently working on a position offering the opportunity to work for a large
Manufacturing business, based on the outskirts of
Burton-on-Trent.


Recruiting for
Management/FP&A Accountant, this
job within the team will report to the Financial Controller and will manage all project-related financial activities.

You should be able to handle on-going project accountsalong with those nearing completion effectively.

The Management Accountant is accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, looking into variances, reviewing outgoing costs inclusive of expenses, and supporting project billings.

You should have an excellenteye for detail and the ability to track any financial discrepancies in the project accounts.


So what is the job?

  • Ensure consistent billing and financial reporting at project levels by following best practices.
  • Looking after and maintaining the project reports.
  • Maintaining all relevant income and expenditure for each project.
  • Generating, updating, and maintaining reports on income, expenditure, and financial transactions.
  • Analysing all project expenses and providing commentary.
  • Creating bespoke financial reports.
  • Guarantee timely reporting, budgeting, financial management and project forecasting.
  • Reviewing current processes for management accounts preparation and streamlining across business.
  • Reviewing and updating Cashflow position.
  • Liaising with Auditors.
  • Business Partnering with nonfinance managers in order to develop processes and the understanding of financial requirements.

  • Characteristics of thoroughness, selfmotivation, persistence, resilience and dedication
  • Good maths and computer skills
    especially MS Excel:
  • Experience with
    SAP project reporting would be an advantage.
  • Experience with
    POC project accounting.

Commercial knowledge and excellent understanding of the manufacturing process:

  • Analytical and logical problem solving skills
  • Previous experience in a commercially focused role
  • An ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way with honesty and integrity
  • Open communication style with ability to finding a solution before presenting the problem

CIMA/ACCA Qualified or Finalist
