We have invested over £400 million in our estate, including unique developments across our hugely expanded City Centre Campus - a stunning state of the art home for our Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the distinctive redevelopment of a Victorian factory into STEAMhouse, a home for our STEAM agenda - bringing together entrepreneurs, creatives and academics to generate new solutions to tomorrow's problems.

We have seen significant student growth in recent years, from 23,500 students from 80 countries in 2016, to more than 31,000 from over 100 countries in 2023.

Building on this powerful platform, we are seeking to appoint an exceptional leader who will drive forward our ambitions, working in partnership with our staff and students to build community internally and grow our influence and impact externally.

We pride ourselves on being the University for Birmingham, so our new Vice-Chancellor will be a key presence within the City and the region, using this as a platform to project our University nationally and internationally.

Inspirational and visionary, you will drive the University towards 2030 and beyond, leveraging our developing links across the world - such as our exciting new work in India, where our STEAM agenda is advancing - and in the UK, with HS2's impressive Birmingham station rapidly emerging adjacent to our City Centre Campus.

We are on the threshold of a new era, our most exciting yet, and want to appoint an ambitious and talented leader able to seize the opportunities in front of us.
