We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Semi-Automated Lathe Turner with expertise in operating the XYZ Proturn lathe machine.

This is a full-time position with our reputable manufacturing company, located in Poole, Dorset.

Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, and maintain the XYZ Proturn lathe machine to produce highquality turned parts in various materials such as aluminium, mild steel, stainless steel and composites.
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine the machining requirements.
Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and attachments on the lathe machine.
Monitor the machining process, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the lathe machine operation.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing wornout parts.
Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Collaborate with other team members and engineers to optimize production processes and improve product quality.

Requirements:

Experience as a Semi-Automated Lathe Turner, with specific expertise in operating the XYZ Proturn lathe machine is desirable
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric tolerances.
Proficient in setting up, programming, and operating the XYZ Proturn lathe machine
Skilled in using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to verify part dimensions.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to lathe machine operation.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain highquality standards.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
Basic understanding of safety protocols and practices in a manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in machining or related field is a plus.
