Annual Review Coordinator:

Job description

Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent

The Special Education Service administers the statutory processes for identification and assessment for children and young people (aged 0-25) with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

The strong, dedicated team of 24 employees work in a fast-paced environment, in partnership with a range of stakeholders ranging from families, schools, and other professionals.

This full time, permanent position typically works 8.30am-5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am-4.30pm on Friday.

You'll have flexibility in hybrid working being both office based, at New Parks House or working remotely from home to suit your and service needs.

What you'll be doing

In this key role you'll assist in providing comprehensive and professional delivery of the Local Authority's statutory duty to review Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Processing and analysing annual reviews to ensure that the decisions and actions undertaken are in line with legislation and SES policy and procedure.

Analysing and accessing annual review recommendations, you'll work in partnership with Education Health Care Inclusion Officer's, to organise and decide whether to amend a range EHCPs across the academic year working with families, schools, and other professionals, whilst following processes to ensure all responses are made in accordance with statutory guidelines.

But not before undertaking any necessary casework/consultations with those involved prior to issuing an amended EHCP.

You'll also support the service in production, analysis, and interpretation of audits of performance relating to annual reviews, including complaints and reporting on the outcomes of these.

It is paramount, within this role, that all work is documented is detailed accurately and in a timely manner. You'll do so, by logging things like written professional advice for annual reviews on the correct IT systems.

What you'll need

With previous experience of multi professional assessment, you'll understand the importance the local authority plays in showing support and guidance within Special Educational Needs contexts.

Having previously worked within the statutory framework, you'll show ability to extract information from a range of data and a variety of sources, presenting your findings in varied formats to suit the audience's needs.

In addition, you'll have a working knowledge of the statutory requirements of the EHC assessment process and Annual Review Process.

Your excellent interpersonal skills will mean you are able to adapt your style to successfully communicate to a variety of audiences including parents, schools, and other agencies.

What we can offer you

As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance.

You'll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the option of flexible working.

We'll also give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of training and development opportunities.

In addition, you can choose from a number of flexible benefits, including discounts on city buses and trains. For an illustrative value of your benefits package, take a look at our benefits calculator.
