We're on the hunt for a talented
People Services Assistant to join our
People team for a 12-month Fixed Term project, in either Salford Quays, Manchester or Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

First Central operate a hybrid working model, so although you will have a designated office you will only be required to come in 1 day a week, the rest of your time will be spent working from home.


The
People Services Assistant is responsible for the provision of accurate and efficient support and administrative services to the People Services team.

The role also entails ensuring a smooth running of system support in the People Services team. Working across multiple sites to provide comprehensive People Services support to The Group.


To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Relevant HR/Talent/Learning experience.
  • Ideally experience using People systems i.e., Workday.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.


Responsibilities:


  • To offer an excellent service to employees of all levels within the business by being a point of contact for HR/Talent/Learning & Development related queries, representing the company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Assist the People Services team with general queries that come into the shared Inboxes and ticketing system. Review and ensure timely responses are provided, keeping within our SLA's.
  • Assist in maintaining the People system and databases ensuring they are kept up to date, accurate and comply with relevant legislation. Input changes to employee records.
  • Support with the screening (including retrospective and SM&CR) process on new and current employees by updating reports and information escalating any issues to the relevant person.
  • Raising POs where required.
  • Onboarding checks prompting line managers to ensure that the relevant right to work and other relevant onboarding tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the HR processes by supporting the team maintaining records and chasing colleagues when required.
  • Assisting the team with aspects of People administration including new starter and leaver processes, interview bookings and learning & development administration
  • Ensure all employment and financial references are completed upon request for colleagues in a timely manner.
  • Supporting and reviewing and maintaining records e.g., exit interviews, holiday, probations, eLearning etc.
  • Support in ensuring that correct data is held in line with company record retention guidelines (starters leavers etc)
  • Ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times (including Consumer Duty)
  • Ad hoc reports, tasks and duties as required to support other teams within the People team.

Job Specific Competencies:


  • CIPD desirable.

Experience

  • Administration experience.


  • HR System

  • Workday (Desirable.)

  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Excellent software skills incl. Word and Excel to advanced level.

Knowledge

  • Good understanding of the insurance industry is desirable.
  • Knowledge of FCA requirements (including Consumer Duty).
  • Basic understanding of Employment Law (desirable).
