An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Associate Director of Nursing position for Children's and Young people, this position is a key member of the senior leadership team within the Women's and Children's (WACS) Care Group.

Assisting the Associate Director of Nursing and Midwifery, in the implementation of the corporate nursing agenda.

You will work under the professional direction of the Associate Director of Nursing and Midwifery, providing professional guidance, support and leadership to all nursing staff to ensure patient safety, service quality and excellent patient experience is consistently maintained.

Whilst our hospital site, The Royal Lancaster Infirmary has been specified as the base for this post we would welcome applicants who may wish to consider their base at one of our other main hospital sites, Furness General Hospital, Barrow-in-Furness or Westmorland General Hospital, Kendal.


Assist/support the Associate Director of Nursing and Midwifery and lead clinicians in delivering all elements of governance for Women's and Children's Care Group.

Will work in accordance with the standards set by the Nursing / Nursing Professional Bodies and Trust Nursing Policies and Guidelines.

Provide visible leadership and operational advice and guidance for Nursing, therapies, medical and support disciplines in clinical activities across the Care Group as well as actively engaging with service users and ensuring that any concerns and complaints are dealt with according to Trust Policy.

You will ensure that the service meets the strategic requirements as set out by the Trust and work with Integrated Care Board to ensure delivery of the key performance indicators for the Women's and Children's Care Group across the bay.

Lead service redesign
Empower, educate and train staff to care for the Neonates, Babies, Children and Young people and families from an holistic perspective

Be responsible for the operational / budgetary management and development of the Nursing and therapy services across the service including the provision of an effective, responsive service.

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
