Duties and responsibilities:


Using your authoritative knowledge of relevant practices, policies and procedures, as well as a good working knowledge of applicable regulations and national codes of practice, you will lead teams to maximise delivery on key operational business areas including effective use of educational space across the Faculty, strategic use of major shared research equipment, day-to-day Health and Safety issues, sustainability and energy efficiency.


Through strategic and pro-active management of people, resources, activities and infrastructure, you will achieve demonstrable success for the Faculty's operational activities.

As appropriate, you will deputise for the Faculty Operating Officer on associated operational matters.


Essential requirements:


You will be educated to degree-level or equivalent, have extensive experience of staff management, motivating and influencing others and demonstrable knowledge of Health & Safety management, ideally within a research-intensive HEI environment.

You will be adept at amassing and appraising information for proposals and recommendations, be able to clearly demonstrate your vision and drive to achieve goals to agreed specification, time, cost and quality standards and have a successful track record in developing innovative solutions and contributing to strategic planning.
