Company Background

Purpose of the function


The purpose of the Quality function is to ensure that Retrac Group continues to deliver its products, fulfilling & exceeding customer expectations.

The purpose of the function is also to ensure that all activities conducted by Retrac Group are done Safely
(protecting the health and safety of its employees, customers, contractors and other interested parties); with consideration for protecting the environment, and consuming natural resources sustainably. This is executed by having an effective and well maintained integrated business management system.

The purpose of the function is also to ensure that Retrac Group's facilities business wide are maintained and developed in line with the high standards Retrac upholds.

Lead Quality Inspector (Composites), Lead Quality Inspector (Metallics), Quality Engineer, HSE & Facilities Officer


Key responsibilities

  • Promote the business ethos of Performance, Precision & Pride every day.
  • Day to day management of personnel within Quality.
  • Ensuring the behaviours and performance of the team are in line with the high standards Retrac requires.
  • Creating, implementing and delivering a successful departmental strategy to support the long term growth of Retrac Group.
  • Maintaining and developing the integrated business management systems for Quality, Health and Safety,
Environmental and Sustainability, and retaining existing certifications (ISO9001, 45001, 14001 &

  • Leading the implementation of new processes to gain industry specific certifications (AS9100D & IATF16949).
  • Working collaboratively with all other business functions, both at senior and working level to ensure Retrac's customers expectations are met.
  • Managing the function's communication patterns and meeting cadence to deliver upon the QHSE,
Sustainability and Facilities targets.

  • To create an appropriate organisational structure and build a successful team.
  • Support and develop employees within the function, providing mentoring, guidance and direction.
  • To cascade the function's objectives, both within the function and across the business.
  • To support all other functions with the necessary resource, tools and processes to deliver the top level business strategy.
  • To lead a continuous improvement framework across the business.
  • To drive a positive Quality culture across Retrac Group.
  • To report the status of all Quality activities across the business, with accuracy and precision, in a timely manner.
  • To ensure projects are delivered to the customer expectations, on quality, on cost, on time.
  • To ensure the business has robust APQP and product launch processes.
  • To ensure that the business has both proactive (quality assurance) and reactive (quality control) procedures.
  • To ensure that Quality, HSE, Sustainability and Facilities issues are managed through a robust non
- conformance or logging system.

  • To ensure root cause analysis is carried out with robust countermeasures in place within 90 days of initial issue detection.
  • To be a strong leader and decision maker, with the best interests of Retrac Group and its employees at the heart of every decision.

Qualifications and skills:


  • Competencies_
  • Minimum ISO9001, 14001, 45001 internal auditor certificate.
  • Degree Qualified or equivalent.
  • Lean six sigma green belt minimum.
  • Ability to manage a wide variety of database inputs into a simple, effective reporting dashboard.
  • Able to react calmly under pressure and maintain positive dialogue in all aspects of work.
  • Able to simplify complex business problems and present these to a wide range of audiences and abilities.
  • Experience managing a wide range of stakeholders and interested parties, including but not limited to: Customers, Shareholders, Employees, Senior leadership, Accreditation bodies, Government & Legislative bodies & Local education partners.
  • Knowledge/Experience_
  • Experienced quality professional, from either an engineering, inspection or management systems background.
  • Understanding of composite & precision machining manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of core quality problem solving tools (8D, DMAIC).
  • Understanding of automotive core quality tools (FMEA, APQP, PPAP).
  • Creative thinker finding tailored solutions appropriate to Retrac Group.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety & Environmental legislation.
  • Experience in a fast paced, dynamic working environment.

Salary:
£50,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
