Housing Project Officer

£16.12 PAYE - £23.00 Umbrella Per Hour

Full Time

6 Month Contract

Bristol / Hybrid


To support the planning, organisation and delivery of successful housing delivery projects, policies and procedures, which seek to achieve key objectives and performance targets of the Housing Delivery Plan and Our Clients Corporate Strategy.

The post holder will work either on smaller individual projects or as part of a project management team on larger projects, the allocation of projects will be commensurate with individual skills and experience.


  • Provide support to project managers and project board members in the delivery of projects and programme

Typically tasks will involve:

  • Providing support to Enabling Managers, Project Managers and Boards through creating and maintaining up to date and accurate documentation.
  • Producing programme and project reports on a regular basis to Boards and as required in order to account for progress.
  • Leading and commissioning project work to inform the delivery of housing projects, policies and procedures.
  • Lead, plan and undertake community consultation.
  • Manage and monitor progress of projects to ensure project objectives (inc. time/ cost and quality targets) agreed by the Project Board are met.
  • Support managers in the Housing Delivery Team to ensure housing projects are planned and delivered effectively through:
  • Planning, monitoring and controlling revenue and capital budgets, in compliance with regulations, and to meet the targets set by the Service Director.
  • Ensuring all projects and work packages are managed with appropriate controls in accordance with agreed project management methodology including risks, issues, stakeholder management, project plan and project monitoring/reporting.
  • Provide a quality assurance function to project and programme managers as requested.
  • Produce regular reporting, and maintain all programme and project documentation including risk registers, project plans and highlight reports.
  • To organise and attend consultation meetings/seminars/working groups with key stakeholders and the community, as appropriate.

Essential Experience

  • Proven track record of successfully working in a project team or on substantial projects in a project support role.
  • Previous experience of working in Housing Delivery or a Capital Project environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of preparing, maintaining and updating project documentation such as business cases, benefit plans, risk logs and highlight reports within a project environment.
  • Experience of working with Finance Officers to manage and track multiple budgets.
  • Ability to present information to a variety of audiences.
  • Good organisational skills in prioritising work, developing documentation, meeting deadlines and organising events/meetings.
  • Ability to take accurate and succinct minutes and/or action notes of meetings.
  • Ability to take responsibility and initiative in organising own workload and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to establish effective working relations with colleagues and customers and the ability to converse with citizens and provide complex information in accurate spoken English, or through a BSL interpreter.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and/or experience of equalities and diversity issues.
