Our Birmingham based client originated more than half a century ago and are recognised as a market leader in the niche electroplating sector for supply to a diverse range of clients and industry sectors throughout the UK.


As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to oversee the finishings division of the business, ideally with experience gained within the Automotivesector, and to complement their established and highly professional manufacturing team.


  • Leading and supporting all aspects of QHSE within your areas including supporting investigations into nonconformance of product, managing PPE adherence, and regular audits of workplace practices i.e. risk assessments for chemical handling for example,
  • Using a handson approach in order to ensure strong communication and information flows are maintained within the team to ensure immediate issues are resolved such as breakdowns, and ongoing issues and trends are shared with the relevant departments andmanagement within the business as a whole.
  • Managing the short
- and long-term adherence to plans to ensure consistency of output, as well as long term efficiencies being identified and realised to aid production targets,

  • Forecasting and controlling resources to ensure business targets can be met as well as performing the daytoday personnel management including disciplinary process across all 3 shifts,
  • Supporting the growth and development of the department across all 3 shifts where necessary ensuring consistency and visibility of management on the shop floor,
  • Creating and maintaining reporting to all levels of the business on an agreed set of KPI for the department.


The successful Production Manager must be able to work in a team as well as on their own to an agreed set of targets and able to communicate at all levels of the business, with excellent attention to detail and time management being essential to successin the position.

It is imperative that applicants understand that this not a "satellite role" where the business is driven with graphs, but a physical hands on role with a consistent presence on the shop floor where questions will be asked, challenged andstandards set to help to drive the finishing divisions of the business forward and improve efficiencies.
